Evansville, Indiana is not, an Evansville, Indiana news station reports (based on a press release from the Evansville, Indiana police department), the meth capital of the world. The Russian-oligarch-backed website named Evansville, Indiana the meth capital of the world, and, yes, certain posts on certain social media sites have been popping up again recently, but Evansville, Indiana is not the meth capital of the world. Really, though, what the Evansville, Indiana news station is saying is that Evansville, Indiana is no longer the meth capital of the world. Certain people wish it to be known that the meth capital of the world is also no longer Riverside, California, Greensboro, North Carolina, Lakeland, Florida, Chattanooga, Tennessee, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Springfield, Missouri, Alexandria, Louisiana, Salem, Oregon, Kansas City, Kansas, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Wasilla, Alaska, or Akron, Ohio. The entire state of Missouri has informed the press it is no longer the meth capital of the world. Although in light of its reputation as the meth capital of the world, the horrific murder in Fresno, California is, as the right-wing propaganda network puts it, no surprise, still, Fresno, California is not the meth capital of the world, not any more. And anyway, analysis has been done on the water in Oslo, Norway, and it has been found that there is a significantly higher concentration of meth in the water there than anywhere else, making it the meth capital of the world. But wait: according to the Times of India, Due to lack of proper surveillance from the law enforcement agencies it is Hyderabad, India that is the meth capital of the world. Or no, the meth capital of the world is Adelaide, in Australia. Is it the entire state of Hawaii? It may be Shan State, in Myanmar. Everyone from the small towns in East Texas claims their town is the meth capital of the world, an East Texas paper reports. It is true that, for a time, the Wikipedia page for Noble County, Indiana claimed that it was the meth capital of the world, but, says the county’s Chief Information Technology Officer, Fortunately, it’s easy to correct such mistakes and anyway No one should rely on Wikipedia for serious research.
